PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:06 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson, and Beggs present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry, Jim Rowe, Rob Welch and Nikki Lock (Bedford Times Press).

Watson made a motion to approve the agenda for today and minutes from the May 29, 2025, meeting. Fitzgerald second, MC 3-0.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
Watson attended the Table Top Exercise in Lenox.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
None

SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
Rowe presented a Utility Permit for Terracon Consultants, Inc. The permit is for soil boring at Utah & 120th St. to extend overhead lines. Fitzgerald made a motion to pass the Terracon Utility Permit.
Treasurer, Dana Davis and Joh Fraley joined the meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:
John Fraley approached the Board about purchasing a piece of property in Lenox. The County acquired the property for failure to sale at tax sale. The lot is in Kafkas Addition, Lot 8, 155’x 39”. Fraley stated he had been taking care of the lot for several years. Watson made a motion to sale the property by tax sale to John Fraley. Fitzgerald seconded the motion, MC 3-0. Auditor Henry submitted the Taylor County Sheriff Contract Appendix A Base wages. The Arbitrator ruled in favor of the Union’s 5% wage increase. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve Appendix A. Watson seconded the motion, MC 3-0.
Henry presented Resolution 2025-18 Naming Depositories PCSB, First Interstate and State Savings Bank. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve 2025-18. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Bedford Mausoleum Board members spoke about the future care of the Mausoleum. It was their hope to have Bedford Township take over the care. Auditor Henry will check with the County Attorney and Bedford Township Clerk on the possibility.
Jackie Minor, Ewart Insurance, reviewed the ICAP liability insurance renewal with the Board. Overall, there was a 7.5% increase. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the renewal with the increase in liability limit for Cyber Security. Watson seconded, MC 3-0.

OLD BUSINESS:
Culp reported on continued projects and upkeep of the Courthouse.
The Board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting.
Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
