OFFICAL PROCEEDINGS FOR
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Wall, Fitzgerald and Beggs (via phone) present. Also present, Deputy Auditor, Lindsay Sonksen, Jim Rowe, Custodian Shellia Culp and Rob Welch.

Fitzgerald motioned to approve the agenda for today and minutes from August 13, 2026. Wall seconded, MC 3-0.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
No public comment.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
None to report on.

SECONDARY ROADS:

Jim Rowe updated the board regarding road conditions and upkeep.
NEW BUSINESS:
Deputy Auditor, Sonksen, presented the board with Resolution 2027-05, Resolution Declaring Intent to Sell County Real Property and Authorizing Public Hearing. This resolution discusses the sale of the Annex building at 619 Court Street, Bedford, IA 50833. Wall motioned to approve Resolution 2027-05. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0. Discussion regarding the public hearing date to sell the Taylor County Annex Building followed. Wall motioned to set the public hearing date for the sale of the Annex Building at 619 Court Street, Bedford, IA 50833 for Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0. Fitzgerald motioned to approve the September 15, 2026, deadline for written comments to the Taylor County Auditor’s Office regarding the sale of the Annex Building. Wall seconded. MC 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
Culp had no updates.
The Board discussed items for the next meeting.

Claims against the County were approved.

Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Wall seconded, MC 3-0.
Meeting adjourned.

The Board of Supervisors approve these unofficial minutes to be published in the local newspapers and upon approval in the Taylor County Board of Supervisors Minute Book:
