OFFICAL PROCEEDINGS FOR
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on August 13, 2026. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Beggs and Wall present. Also present, Auditor, Judy Henry, Jim Rowe, Secondary Roads, Robert Welch, JCG Land Services and Corey Eberling with APEX.
Fitzgerald motioned to approve the agenda for today and minutes from August 6, 2026. Wall seconded, MC 3-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT:

COMMITTEE REPORT:
None
SECONDARY ROADS:
No utility permits. Rowe stated they continue to work on culvert, patch work and mowing roadsides.
NEW BUSINESS:
Zoie Lecy, Conservation, presented her annual report on progress and updates at the Taylor County parks for FY2026. Lecy reported they started mowing the Conway park now that the city has dissolved. Updates in the County parks include new and refurbished picnic tables, working on the Gamel Recreational Park, Sands Timber fences and cleaning up flooded areas. The turn out for the educational programs are increasing, with more schools attending. The Conservation Board also hosted a walking trail Easter egg hunt, Halloween costume trail and kayaking events.
The Board of Supervisors discussed the future of the Taylor County Annex. The County has no need for the Annex since there are 2 meeting rooms available on the lower level of the Courthouse that are handicap accessible. There has been some interest from the public in purchasing the Annex. The Board asked Auditor Henry to send a notice to all realtors in Taylor County to take bids for selling the Annex.
Henry presented Taylor County Resolution #2027-04, Designate Voting Representatives for the Iowa State Association of Counties. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve Resolution #2027-04. Wall seconded the motion, MC 3-0. AYES: Wall, Fitzgerald and Beggs, NAYS: 0
OLD BUSINESS:
The Board discussed items for the next meeting and claims against the County were approved.
Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Wall seconded, MC 3-0.
Meeting adjourned.
