August 7, 2026 Meeting Minutes

OFFICAL PROCEEDINGS FOR
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Wall, Fitzgerald and Beggs present. Also present, Deputy Auditor, Lindsay Sonksen, Engineer, Seth Sunderman, IT Director Amanda Biddenback, Custodian Shellia Culp and Rob Welch.

Wall motioned to approve the agenda for today and minutes from July 30, 2026. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
No public comment.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
Beggs attended a SICOG regular meeting. Nothing to report.

SECONDARY ROADS:
No utility permits. Engineer Sunderman reported MidAmerican Energy started trenching for fiber in the New Market area. Secondary Roads received rail car tankers for upcoming projects along with expecting a pipe delivery for next week for the Hungry Canyon projects. Crews are out touching up roads after this week’s rainfall.
NEW BUSINESS:
Deputy Auditor, Sonksen, presented the board with inventory disposal sheets. Fitzgerald made the motion to approve of the disposals. Wall seconded. MC 3-0. The board signed all inventory disposal sheets.
OLD BUSINESS:
Culp updated the Board on projects within the Courthouse. Culp showed the board members how the sidewalk project turned out on the north side of the Courthouse and discussed placement of the handrail on the north side, which will be moved slightly East to allow easier access to the North door.
The Board discussed items for the next meeting.

Claims against the County were approved.

Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Wall seconded, MC 3-0.
Meeting adjourned.

The Board of Supervisors approve these unofficial minutes to be published in the local newspapers and upon approval in the Taylor County Board of Supervisors Minute Book:
