PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday,
January 22, 2026. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Beggs, Fitzgerald and Wall present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry, IT Josh Good, Engineer Seth Sunderman, Rob Welch with JCG Land Services, Susan Breach and Maintenance Shellia Culp. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes from January 20, 2026, meeting, Wall seconded, MC 3-0.
COMMITTEE REPORT:
Beggs attended the Landfill meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Welch reported Design Engineers will soon be coming to the County.
SECONDARY ROADS:
No permits. They continue to work on new pilings for the bridge in Gay Township, Section 7. Reported work was being done in Holt 23, some wash boarding of the road had been fixed.
NEW BUSINESS:
Wall made a motion to approve Taylor County Resolution #2026-15, Approving Bonds for County Officers. Fitzgerald seconded the motion, MC 3-0 AYES: Beggs, Fitzgerald and Wall NAYS: 0. Susan Breach reported Everette and Jeanette Tribolet resigned form the Veterans Affairs Office effective January 30, 2026. Henry reported per the agreement between Taylor County and Bedford American Legion, Lary Wyckoff served notice the County needed to be out of the Legion office by February 28, 2026. County Attorney Mike Wells presented his budget for FY27. Lydia Brumfield and Danna Buls, MATURA, requested the same funding of County Programs for $17,000 and General Assistance $8,000 for FY27. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the Treasurers’ Semi-Annual Report. Wall seconded, MC 3-0. Quarterly Employee Insurance buyouts were signed. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve equipment disposal forms from Secondary Roads. Wall seconded, MC 3-0.
February meeting dates will be 5th,12th, 19th and 26th. Budget Amendment is still set for the 19th. Wall was assigned to the following committees: Hungry Canyons, SWIA Trolly, EMA, 5th Judicial and Children’s Mental Health.
Culp stated she had met with Susan Breach pertaining to VA Office upgrades. Culp and the Board assessed what will need to be done in the west wing office so the VA can move in. Henry will contact Adams County VA to request help covering the Taylor County VA Office until a Director is hired.
The Board discussed items for the next meeting.
Wall made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.
