PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday,
November 20, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:01 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Kim Watson, Ron Fitzgerald, and Jack Beggs present. Also present, Deputy Auditor Lindsay Sonksen and Jim Rowe.
Watson made a motion to approve November 12 ,2025 minutes and agenda for today. Fitzgerald second, MC 3-0.
COMMITTEE REPORT:
None.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
None.
SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
Jim Rowe updated the board on ongoing projects for Secondary Roads. Rowe discussed a possible new hire, Lee Pierce, that would start December 1, 2025, upon the board’s approval. Watson made a motion to approve the hiring of Lee Pierce with the start date of December 1, 2025. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS:
Rowe presented insurance buyout forms. Fitzgerald motioned to approve the insurance buyout forms. Watson seconded. MC 3-0.
Deputy Auditor, Lindsay Sonksen, presented the 2026 Holiday Calendar to the board. Sonksen discussed adding Good Friday as a county holiday for 2026. The presented 2026 Holiday Calendar is as such:

Watson made a motion to approve the 2026 Holiday Calendar. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting. Next week’s Board of Supervisor’s meeting has been moved to Monday, November 24th at 9:00a.m. Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Watson seconded, MC 3-0.
