PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday,
September 25, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:13 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Watson, Fitzgerald, and Beggs present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry, Jim Rowe and Rob Welch.
Watson made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes from the September18, 2025, meeting. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.
COMMITTEE REPORT:
Watson attended the RC&D meeting.
Fitzgerald attended Crossroads meeting and Matura meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Rob Welch, JCG Land Services, shared they are finishing up signing documents with landowners for the Windmill Project.
SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
Rowe reported there were no utility permits. Rowe presented quotes for used dump trucks and a used dozer. They had budgeted for other equipment this year but may go with the dump trucks. They also have been fielding road work issues.
NEW BUSINESS:
IT Specialist Josh Good presented a quote for a new AS400 IBM Power 8 Server for $47,235.66 from Solutions/Harris Co. He stated the current server will no longer be supported as of January 1, 2026. Watson motioned to approve the purchase. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0. Watson made a motion to go into closed session per Iowa Code 21.5 (1)a to discuss new hire process. Fitzgerald seconded. AYES: Watson, Beggs and Fitzgerald. NAYES 0. Closed session began at 10:30 a.m. The Board returned from closed session at 10:55 a.m. Henry will be placing ads the paper for snow removal at the Courthouse, Sheriff’s Office and Public Health.
OLD BUSINESS:
None
The Board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting.
Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.
