PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday,
October 23, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:05 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Watson, Fitzgerald, and Beggs present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry, Engineer Seth Sunderman, and Shari Morris, JCG Land Services.
Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes from the October 9 and 16, 2025 meetings. Watson seconded, MC 3-0.
COMMITTEE REPORT:
None
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Shari Morris, JCG Land Services, updated the Board on the Windmill Project. They are in the final stages of land acquisition.
SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
Sunderman wanted the Holt Bid letting project moved to October 30, 2025. There was one utility permit application for moving existing cable on bridge 130th St. and State Hwy 148 from Farmers Mutual Telephone. Fitzgerald motioned to approve the Utility Permit. Watson seconded, MC 3-0. Watson made a motion to purchase a 2013 Peterbilt 386 for $45,000. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.
Paul Norton joined the meeting at 9:12 a.m.
NEW BUSINESS:
Paul Norton spoke to the Board about the County helping with the cost of surveying the Conway Cemetery. The Board suggested checking with Recorder’s office to see if there was a survey already on file. The Snow removal bids were tabled until October 30, 2025.
Fitzgerald motioned to go into closed session. Watson seconded, AYES: Beggs, Fitzgerald and Watson NAYS: 0, MC. At 10:20 a.m. closed session started.
The Board returned to regular session at 10:28 a.m.
OLD BUSINESS:
Shellia Culp gave updates on projects in the Courthouse.
The Board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting.
Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Watson seconded, MC 3-0.
Meeting adjourned.
