PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday
November 12, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:10 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Watson, Fitzgerald and Beggs present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry and Jim Rowe, Secondary Roads.
Watson made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes from the November 6, 2025, meeting. Beggs seconded, MC 3-0.
COMMITTEE REPORT:
None
PUBLIC COMMENT:
None
SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
No utility permits. Rowe stated they continue to work on bridge projects while the weather permits.
NEW BUSINESS:
Carol Atkins, Family Crisis Center, was present to request continued funding for Fiscal Year 2027. Taylor County had 8 contacts dealing with homicidal/violent crimes and 39 calls into the crisis line at the Family Crisis Center. The Board will take her request into consideration for FY27.
The Board preformed the 1st Tier Canvass for the November 4th, 2025, City/School Election. All counts were correct as previously recorded.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting.
Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Watson seconded, MC 3-0.

The Board declared that Public Measure UD – Yes-288, No-619 “Shall the Board of Directors of the Bedford Community School District in the Counties of Taylor, Ringgold, and Page, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $11,500 to provide funds to build furnish and equip a competition gym addition and a loading dock addition to the District’s existing K-12 facility, with related remodeling and improvements; and to improve the site?” not to be adopted.
The Board declared the Public Measure UE – Yes 994, No 393 “Shall the Taylor County Board of Supervisors, having declared Emergency Medical Services essential to the health of citizens in Taylor County, and upon recommendation by the Taylor County EMS Advisory Council, for the purpose of creation and maintaining a steady funding stream for all emergency medical services in Taylor County, including, but not limited to, ambulance services, first response services, personnel, equipment, and training, be authorized for a period of 15 years, to levy and impose a tax not exceeding sixty cents per one thousand dollars of assessed valuation on all taxable property within Taylor County, commencing with the levy ending June 30, 2027.” to be adopted.
