PROCEEDINGS FOR
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday,
March 5, 2026. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Beggs, Fitzgerald and Wall present. Also present, Auditor, Judy Henry, Engineer Seth Sunderman and Rob Welch.

Wall motioned to approve amending the agenda to include a letter of support for the Public Health Department. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0. Wall motioned to approve minutes from the February 26th and March 3rd meetings. Fitgerald seconded, MC 3-0.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
Beggs attended the SICOG meeting, reporting a representative from SICOG will be here on March 10, to review County projects.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
None

SECONDARY ROADS:
Fitzgerald made a motion to approve a utility permit for Windstream Iowa Communications LLC to lay fiber along Crestwood Ave and 220th Street. Wall seconded, MC 3-0. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve a utility permit for FMTC to lay fiber at 270th and Colt Ave. Wall seconded, MC 3-0. Sunderman reported work in Ross #8 bridge was complete. Discussion was held on the upcoming public hearing pertaining to road vacancies in Clayton Township. Sunderman also stated they are looking into purchasing a newer tractor for mowing.

NEW BUSINESS:
Insurance buyouts were reviewed. Sheriff Josh Weed presented the FY27 School Resource Officer agreement. There will only be one officer covering both Bedford and Lenox schools. Sara Guilliatt with Public Health, requested the Board sign a letter of support for the Federal Grant Program they are applying for. Further budget discussions were held.
OLD BUSINESS:
Culp updated the Board on projects within the Courthouse.
The Board discussed items for the next meeting.

Claims against the County were approved.

Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Wall seconded, MC 3-0.
Meeting adjourned.
