PROCEEDINGS FOR
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday,
March 19, 2026. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Lincoln Wall, Ron Fitzgerald and Jack Beggs present. Also present, Deputy Auditor, Lindsay Sonksen, Engineer, Seth Sunderman, Rob Welch, Susan Breach, Holly Steeve, Amanda Biddenback, Nikki Lock, Julie Robinson, Shellia Culp, Dan Wyckoff, Jay Smith, Pat Haney, Erik Peterson, and Zoie Lecy.
Fitzgerald motioned to amend the agenda for today’s meeting to add Resolution 2026-23, Resolution for Road Vacation Public Hearing. Wall seconded. MC 3-0. Wall motioned to approve the agenda for today and minutes from March 12, 2026. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT:

COMMITTEE REPORT:
Wall attended a Farm Bureau meeting.
SECONDARY ROADS:
Engineer Sunderman presented 3 SIRWA utility permits to the board. Wall motioned to approve the SIRWA utility permit located at 300th Street, Section 7 at Ross Township. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0. Fitzgerald motioned to approve the SIRWA utility permit located at 150th Street, Section 32 of Platte Township. Wall seconded. MC 3-0. Wall motioned to approve the SIRWA utility permit located at Tennessee Ave, Section 18 at Grant Township. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS:
Jay Smith and Pat Haney with Access Systems spoke about the services the business provides. Short discussion followed regarding details. Holly Steeve discussed revisions with the Veteran’s Affairs 28E Agreement with Adams County. Further discussion was tabled until the March 26th meeting. Sonksen presented Resolution 2026-22, Resolution Establishing Pay Increases for FY27. The Taylor County Auditor, Treasurer, Recorder and Assessor would receive a wage of $75,000. The Taylor County Sheriff will receive a 3% raise, County Attorney will increase to $78,400 and County Attorney Secretary wage will increase to $51,455.94 for FY27 beginning July 1st, 2026. There will be a 3% across the board increase in all other wages and salaries that are not based directly off the salary of said elected officials listed above. Wall motioned to approve Resolution 2026-22, Resolution Establishing Pay Increases for FY27. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0.
Fitzgerald motioned to recess. Wall seconded. MC 3-0.
Beggs called the Road Vacation Public Hearing to order at 11:00a.m. Seth Sunderman, Jack Beggs, Ron Fitzgerald, Lincoln Wall and Lindsay Sonksen were present. No public comment. After a short discussion regarding the details of the Road Vacation, Fitzgerald motioned to close the public hearing. Wall seconded. MC 3-0.
Wall motioned to come out of recess. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0.
Wall motioned to approve Resolution 2026-23, Resolution for Road Vacation Public Hearing. Fitzgerald seconded. MC 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
Culp updated the Board on projects within the Courthouse.
Lecy updated the Board on on-going projects within the Conservation department. The department received a $10,000 Endowment grant for the Wilson Lake Bathroom project. They also received a grant for $63,000 for fish habitat.
The Board discussed items for the next meeting.
Claims against the County were approved.
Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Wall seconded, MC 3-0.
