December 23, 2025 Meeting Minutes

PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
December 23, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:10 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald and Beggs present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry, Engineer Seth Sunderman, IT Josh Good, and Shellia Culp, maintenance.

Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes of the December 18, 2025, meeting. Beggs seconded, MC 2-0.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
Fitzgerald attended the Southern Iowa Trolly meeting.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
None

SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
No utility permits. Sunderman reported on current road conditions and projects. Fitzgerald made a motion to set January 8, 2026, 10:32 a.m. for a public hearing to change the service level on Post Ave, Marshall Township, in sections 33 and 34. Beggs seconded, motion carried 2-0.

NEW BUSINESS:
At 9:30 Assessor Holly Cavin, Treasurer Dana Davis, Jim Rowe, Belinda Ogle and Julie Robinson joined the meeting. Discussion and updates were made to the Taylor County Employee Policy and Handbook. The Handbook will be on the agenda for January 8, 2026, for final approval. Shellia Culp announced she will be retiring in December 2026. Resolution #2026-12 was tabled until the January 2, 2026, meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
Culp gave an update on upkeep of the Courthouse. Auditor Henry stated she will put off scheduling Budget requests until the new Supervisor is sworn in on January 20, 2026.
The Board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting.
Fitzgerald made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Beggs seconded, MC 2-0.
