PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday,
August 14, 2025. Supervisor Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:08 a m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Watson, Fitzgerald, and Beggs present. Also present, Auditor Judy Henry, Rob Welch, Sandy Schubert and Belinda Ogle.

Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the agenda for today and the minutes from the August 1st and August 6th, 2025, meetings. Watson seconded, MC 3-0.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
Watson attended the RC&D meeting.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
Sandy Schubert shared that the Vic Noer family would like to place a memorial bench in the Courtyard, the Board approved the request.

SECONDARY ROAD REPORT:
Watson motioned to approve Resolution #26-4 Designation of County Engineer to certify funds for Farm-to-Market, Federal or State aid. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.

NEW BUSINESS:
Belinda Ogle, EMA, stated she is seeking funds for the 26/27 Hazard Mitigation Plan process. Auditor Henry presented Resolution #26-5 Allowance of Tax Credits and Exemptions on a yearly basis. Henry explained most Counties are letting the Assessor and Auditor approve the credits and exemptions without bringing each application to the Board of Supervisors. The Auditor will provide a final yearly report for the Boards records. Fitzgerald motioned to approve Resolution #26-5. Watson seconded, MC 3-0. Due to wording changes Resolution #26-6 Increase in Taylor County Mileage Rate was tabled until the next meeting.
Crystal Drake, Public Health gave updates on Infinity Health, hiring new staff to replace retiring staff and overall challenges her office is facing with record keeping from other offices.

OLD BUSINESS:
Sheilla Culp updated the Board on Courthouse upkeep. She hung some old city banners, for public viewing. The banners were believed to be from the County’s 100th Celebration.

The Board approved claims to be paid and discussed items for the next meeting.
Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.
Meeting adjourned.
