Taylor County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections, Judy Henry, hereby gives notice that there will be a PRIMARY ELECTION in Taylor County, Iowa on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026. Qualified electors of Taylor County will vote at the polling places designated below for the purpose of electing candidates for Partisan Federal, State and County Offices, for Nonpartisan Offices and to act upon the retention of Judges in office.

Vote at the Taylor County Courthouse, Lower Level, Room 1
405 Jefferson street, Bedford, IA 50833
Jackson, Polk, and Ross Townships; and that portion of Benton Township West of a line beginning at the intersection of the centerline of State Highway 148 and the North line of Benton Township, thence South along the highway centerline to the South line of Benton Township.

Any voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. For further information, please contact the County Auditor’s Office at telephone number (712) 523-2280 or email auditor@taylorcounty.iowa.gov.
Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered – such as voters registering to vote on election day – and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) 1) may have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the County Auditor’s office by 12:00 noon on January 15th, 2026. Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification. The automatic tabulating equipment to count the votes cast will be publicly tested in the Auditor’s Office at the Taylor County Courthouse, 405 Jefferson St. Suite 1. Bedford, Iowa on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 at 10:00 am. If you have any questions on the public test, please call 712-523-2280. A public audit of the election results will be January 22, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Office.
