## MEETING MINUTES

 Date: October 15, 2026
Time: 9:00 am
Place: 405 Jefferson St. Bedford IA 50833

OFFICAL PROCEEDINGS FOR
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on October 15, 2026. Chairman Jack Beggs called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Wall and Beggs present.
Also in attendance: Judy Henry, Seth Sunderman, Amanda Biddenback and Rob Welch.

Wall motioned to approve the agenda for today and minutes from October 8, 2026. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
None

COMMITTEE REPORT:
None

SECONDARY ROADS:
Sunderman reported an accident involving a vehicle and semi-trailer happened at Idaho Ave and Adams/Taylor Street. Signage on the Taylor County side consists of a yield sign while Adams County has a stop sign. Sunderman will be submitting a Resolution at the next Supervisor meeting to change Taylor’s side to a stop sign. The road marking project will start at the end of next week, weather permitting.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Board had previously interviewed applicants for the maintenance position. Wall made a motion to hire Briana Key to replace Culp when she retires. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
Maintenance: Culp spoke to Palmer’s about making a mini split for the computer room. She requested the Board verify what type of wiring is needed.
Departmental Updates: Biddenback would like to change the position of some of the security cameras, she will meet with the County Attorney on legality of the view for some of the changes. Henry updated the Board on the property project; she still has several lots that need research. Henry relayed her office had been working with the State Auditor’s on the mishandling of donated sick leave by one of the departments. The State Auditors office notified Henry that the donated sick time will need to be returned to the employees who donated it. The employee that received the donated time will need to recoup the time back to the County until all the hours are made up. Donation of sick time had been removed from The Taylor County Handbook and Policies back in 2018. The Board wants to remind all Departments to stick to the current handbook.
Fitzgerald motioned to go into recess until 1:00 p.m., Wall seconded. MC 3-0.
The Board returned from recess at 1:00 p.m. Beggs called the meeting to order. Present: Beggs, Wall, Fitzgerald, Henry, Tony Hardisty, Diane Sefrit and Angela Henry. Hardesty, Sefrit and A. Henry were present to talk about getting the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department on the most recent 911 emergency platform that SC-E911 uses. The program provides emergency dispatchers and tech users with a platform for providing highly accurate, real-time location tracking and will improve response time during critical incidents. Taylor County is the only county in the South-Central region that doesn’t use one of the platforms. Currently there are funds available designated for Taylor County that can be used for dispatching expenses and programming. The Board stated they will talk to the Sheriff’s Office about the program.
Claims were approved against the county.
Wall made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Fitzgerald seconded, MC 3-0.

Meeting adjourned.

The Board of Supervisors approve these unofficial minutes to be published in the local newspapers and upon approval in the Taylor County Board of Supervisors Minute Book as official minutes:
