PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
TAYLOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Taylor County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Supervisor Fitzgerald called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor roll call: Fitzgerald, Watson and Beggs all present. Also, present Auditor, Judy Henry, Rob Welch, Belinda Ogle and Jim Rowe
Beggs made a motion to approve the agenda and the minutes from July 11, 2024, Board meeting. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.

Secondary Road Report:
Rowe presented a Utility Permit Application for Alliant Energy for 3 phase underground box culvert work located south of 2695 Taygold Ave. Blockton. BRS-C080(85)—60-80. Watson made a motion to accept the Permit for Alliant Energy. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
Raymond Olney and Shellia Culp joined the meeting.
The Board received a letter of resignation from Justn Savage, Engineer, with an effective August 7, 2024.
Raymond Olney gave an update on weed notifications throughout the County. Olney also reviewed quotes he received for a new Bucket Truck. Watson made a motion to purchase a Ford Truck with a possibility of exchanging the single bucket to a double bucket. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Rowe presented a Preconstruction Agreement from Iowa DOT for a primary road project. The project is for hot mix asphalt resurfacing on Iowa 148 from the north corporate limit of Bedford to U.S. 34 (Milepost 8.41 to Milepost 29.10). This project will include resurfacing County Road J35 (3rd Street) from east Gravity corporate limits to the intersection of Iowa 148. The County will be responsible for J35 portion. Watson made a motion to accept Agreement No. STP-148-1(040)—2C-87. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS:
Treasurer Dana Davis submitted the Semi-Annual Report. Davis will ask for approval at the July 25, 2024, meeting.
Auditor Henry presented Notice of Action to adopt Taylor County Ordinance #39. This is a readoption of existing county codes and amending or repealing certain codes. This type of Ordinance must be reviewed every 5 years to comply with Iowa Code Section 331.302. Beggs made a motion to publish Ordinance #39 with a hearing date of August 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Board Room. Watson seconded the motion. MC 3-0.
Shellia Culp gave Courthouse updates. Carpet has been selected for the basement meeting room.
No Auditor updates.
The Board worked on items for the next meeting.
Claims were reviewed and approved.
Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Beggs seconded the motion. MC 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
